Community Living Sail Day

The day was a tremendous success thanks to a wonderful supporting turnout from the club.

We had 37 Community Living clients and staff out on the water for a sail followed by a hotdog lunch non-pareil, with dogs toasted by brazier Ed Stevenson! Nine boats carried the day with thanks to Mike Stratton, Paavo Kivisto, Herb Hilderley, Tom Nelson, Rob Currie, Al Borg, Tom Willison, Tim Duffin, and Gary Willams. And thanks to crews: Michelle, Colin McC, Elie, Tina, Allan H., Bruce, Monty, and Alex.  In the kitchen dealing with Ed’s dogs and the chips, watermelon, and ice cream, we had Gabby, Ann, Lorraine, and Kim McNeil from the CL board, with others pitching in at times. My apologies to any I have missed. But I call for a general round of applause. A great supportive turnout for a worthy cause. Many of our friends look forward all year to this day. It’s quite a lift for them.

There will be reports in the provincial Community Living press. A report with photos is also going to the local press. Three Cheers PYC!! George Wilkinson, the originator, would be proud.
