Murray Canal History Presentation

Brightonians can gain a glimpse into Murray Canal history

Brighton Public Library hosts historian Dan Buchanan on Feb. 23

Residents can sail over to the Brighton library to learn about the history of the Murray Canal.

The Brighton Public Library hosts an evening presentation about the canal featuring local historian Dan Buchanan.

“The story of the Murray Canal is complex, compelling — and not what you think,” the Brighton Public Library said in a social media post.

“Learn about the people and technology that made this dream a reality and its impact on our community.”

The presentation is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Registration is required. Visit the main desk at the Alice Street branch of the Brighton Public Library or call the library at 613-475-2511 to reserve a spot.
