I came up with the idea of a bonfire when the Executive decided it would be too risky to have our usual Christmas party. Some people seemed enthusiastic about it, others thought it would be too cold. We watched the weather over the next few weeks, and it looked pretty good. But then on Dec. 4th, the day of the event, the winds were so bad while we were setting up that I thought we’d have to cancel last minute!
Thankfully everything calmed down nicely in the evening. We had hot cider ready, a table was set up for some hors d’oeuvres, and lo and behold a crowd of roughly 30 people showed up to brave the elements. Warmed up by the fire, hot cider, and many blankets, I think we all enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to see some folks again that we hadn’t seen most of the year! Thank you to Kyle who took some pictures, which turned out pretty good, even if you can’t recognize too many people.
