The 2017 edition of the Kelly cup was held on July 1. Named after JC daughter, the Kelly cup is competed for by female skippers. The weather was great with 10 knots of breeze and no, I repeat, no rain during the race. RC of Sail Robert C provided the report on the race results.
“Contrary to the weather forecast, we had great weather & nice winds for both races to-day.
The first race was Saturday Series #1, and the results are attached (hopefully I’ll get them onto the website soon).
The second race was for the Kelly Trophy. Charlotte Coxhead skippering Tomfoolery won this, very closely followed by Anna Currie skippering Xtasea. Christine Lachapelle skippering Whiskey Jack ll was 3rd, and Cheryl & Michaela Albert who took it in turns skippering Breakaway by was 4th. Unfortunately La Di Da had to retire early in the race as the skipper MJ hurt her knee.”
