The Historical Society of Brighton chose the Presqu’ile Yacht Club for the location to unveil and dedicate three new historical plaques honoring the wharves that used to dot Presqu’ile Bay. These wharves played a major roll in the community’s economy during the 1800s.
Members of the public as well as town councillors Mary Tadman and Laura Vink were present. Denis Fletcher gave a brief talk on the history of the wharves and then Commodore Tom assisted the councillors in unveiling the three plaques. The Independent covered the ceremony and an article appeared the June 29th issue.
