Spring is Here

The ice is out of the harbour and the weather is finally starting to warm up.  Water levels are currently on par with the level last spring and almost a foot above long term average for March.  Is it time to start thinking about messing about in boats again?

Work at the club has already underway.  Brad has already started to organize the site for the new gazebo and with the help of several members has cleared the area.  He has also burned the brush from last falls work parties.

Prototype new dock utility pole

Al B  held a harbour committee meeting and plans have been make for spring work parities.  One item discussed was the new dock utility pole designed by Al H.  The pole (see picture) will upgrade the water and hydro connections and insure that the electrical code will be met.   One work session  to make the poles has already taken place and 7 poles will be installed at the spring work parties.

The executive held its spring meeting last week and is preparing budget and other items for the spring general meeting.  This year’ s house cleaning and waste schedule will soon be  posted on the webpage as well as a printable version of the club’s schedule of events.

And finally  the first mandatory work party starts at 0830 hr on April 08.  It will be a great chance to catch up with fellow members after a long cold winter.

See you then-Tom W
