2017 Scotch Bonnet Race

The Scotch Bonnet Race was held on July 29 and what a great day it was.  There was plenty of sunshine & wind – the wind speed & direction made it one of the faster Scotch Bonnet races (the average race time was roughly 3 hours).  And to cap it off, we had a great turn-out which totalled 24 boats (8 FS, 16 NFS), including 10 visitors.

Congratulations to Tom Willison, Herb Hilderley and Al Borg (sailing Rob Arbuckles boat) for placing 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively in the FS fleet.  And to Paavo Kivisto, Leigh Campbell and Fred Wardle for placing 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the NFS fleet.

As usual, the full results are posted on the club website at  https://presquileyc.com/2017-race-results-2/

The race trophy presentation ceremony was followed by the bring your own burn it BBQ pot luck dinner and there was plenty of food and drink for all.  The fine summer evening allowed the use of the fire pit till the wee hours of the morning.  As the pictures show, it as another fine event held at PYC.  Thanks to the many members that helped make it a success.
